Stacking is a common term used when using nutritional supplements and involves “stacking” multiple supplements in order to achieve maximal effectiveness. In my experience with CBD, I find that patients have the best results when using different forms of CBD simultaneously. Since there is no way to overdose on CBD, stacking it is extremely safe and can be more cost effective in the long-term once the right combination of products has been found.
Across the board I recommend patients use an oral tincture. Oral tinctures are long acting and the effects tend to last longer than other methods of administration. Veedverks now offers a tincture by H Hemp or one can be made from Veedverks isolate (see my article here). I recommend 1 dropper full (or 10-20 mg of isolate) under the tongue twice a day. Since CBD is absorbed in the sublingual capillaries it is beneficial to hold it under the tongue for about 60 seconds before swallowing. This is a general starting point that I recommend for everyone, but each individual will respond to different amounts of CBD. If desired effects are achieved with this dosage, one can try lowering the dose to find the minimum effective dose for their particular needs. Alternately, one can increase the amount or frequency until they feel the product is benefiting them.
The downside of oral tinctures is that the effects take around 30 minutes to take effect. With certain conditions such as neuropathic pain, headaches, and anxiety, one may desire more immediate effects. Vaporizing is ideal for these conditions and provides instantaneous relief. The down side to vaporizing is the effects tend not last as long as a tincture, so one may have to use it more frequently. Stacking an oral tincture with either Veedverks e-liquid or cartridges gives both the long-acting effects of sublingual administration, but also the short-acting benefit of vaporizing. For those who prefer to vaporize, I still recommend purchasing an oral tincture to prolong the effect of Veedverks in instances where vaporizing may not be permitted, such as on an airplane or in an office building.
Topicals, such as Amelia, are great for both rapid and localized relief of pain. I have many patients who take an oral tincture or vaporize for conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, dementia, or depression and have found effective doses for treating those conditions. However, they frequently have localized pain conditions such as arthritis, headaches, disc herniations, and joint pain. Amelia works great to block pain receptors at the skin level and can be applied directly to the area of pain. The effects of Amelia are felt immediately and can reduce pain and stiffness for up to 8 hours. I especially like Amelia for chronic headaches as it can be applied directly to the temples. The soothing formula contains terpenes that are well known to help headaches and lack of menthol-like ingredients makes it safe to be applied around the eye.
Each patient and condition is unique and there is no method of “stacking” that is right for everyone. I find that in combination the products are more effective than when used separately, and therefore, making it more cost-effective. If you are currently using one of the Veedverks products, you already know that the products are high quality and effective. I urge you to try adding another Veedverks products to your regimen to enhance the benefits you are already receiving. If you are not currently using any Veedverks products, all I can say is what are you waiting for?
